Lady Lions Alum Makenna Marisa Named To Women’s College All-Star Game

Former Penn State women’s basketball guard Makenna Marisa was named to the 2024 Women’s College All-Star Game, the event announced Thursday.

The event, which features 20 seniors, has three Big Ten players on the rosters, as Marisa will be joined by Indiana’s Mackenzie Holmes and Sara Scalia. Marisa will play under coach Cheryl Miller, a former USC basketball player and sports broadcaster.

Marisa, a fifth-year senior, averaged over 13 points, two assists, and three rebounds per game this past season. She also scored her 2,000th career point on January 25 and was the only Lady Lion in program history to finish her career with 2,000 points, 500 assists, 500 rebounds, 200 three-pointers, and 175 steals. She earned conference honors on four occasions, most recently being named to the All-Big Ten Second Team.

Marisa and the other players will tip off at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 6, at the Wolstein Center in Cleveland, Ohio. The game will be televised on ESPN2.
