Terri Williams Promoted To Lady Lions Associate Head Coach

Terri Williams was promoted to associate head coach of Penn State women’s basketball, the team announced Thursday. She spent two years as an assistant coach with the Lady Lions.

“We are thrilled [to] promote Terri Williams to associate head coach. She has been an integral part of our growth as a program,” head coach Carolyn Kieger said. “She leads with passion and empowers our young women to soar to new heights on and off the court. Her love for her Alma Mater runs deep and we are excited to continue our pursuit of excellence.”

Williams was a four-year Lady Lion from 1988 to 1991 and went on to hold head coaching jobs at Georgetown and Auburn for a combined 17 years, making several trips to the NCAA Tournament and WNIT.

After returning to Penn State in 2022, Williams became an assistant coach focused on defense, and she most recently helped Leilani Kapinus become a selection to the Big Ten All-Defensive Team this past season.

Williams will help rebuild a roster that recently lost several key players, including Shay Ciezki and Ali Brigham.
