Penn State Men’s Lacrosse To Face No. 8 Seed Georgetown In First Round Of NCAA Tournament

Penn State men’s lacrosse will play after hearing its name called on Selection Sunday for the 2024 NCAA Tournament. The Nittany Lions will take on No. 8 seed Georgetown at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 12, on the road.
This will be Penn State’s second straight NCAA Tournament appearance. Last year, Penn State fell in controversial fashion to Duke during overtime.
The Nittany Lions enter the tournament fresh off a defeat to Michigan in the Big Ten Tournament championship. They have an 11-4 record overall, 3-2 in the Big Ten, and a handful of standout players. Five players were named to All-Big Ten teams: TJ Malone was named Offensive Player of the Year, and Jack Fracyon picked up Specialist of the Year.
Georgetown went 12-3 with a 4-1 record in the Big East. They notched an upset win over No. 1 Notre Dame early in the season and defeated Villanova in the conference tournament. Of their three losses, two of the Hoyas’ came in the first two games of the season.
