Four Penn State Baseball Players Named To All-Big Ten Teams

Four Penn State baseball players were named to All-Big Ten teams, the conference announced Tuesday. Adam Cecere, JT Marr, Bryce Molinaro, and Mason Horwat were all recognized for their on-field play.

Cecere and Marr each made the All-Big Ten Second Team after being first and second in RBIs for the Nittany Lions, respectively. Marr, a fifth-year catcher, also led the team in hits with 85, while Cecere had the most home runs on the team with 15.

After batting .325 with 62 hits, 40 RBIs, and 10 home runs, redshirt freshman Molinaro was named a third-team All-Big Ten selection. Molinaro has started in all 49 of Penn State’s games.

Horwat was named to the All-Big Ten Freshman Team with a 4-1 record and two saves. Horwat boasts a 4.35 ERA and was recently named conference Freshman of the Week.

C.J. Pittaro was also recognized with the Sportsmanship Award for the Nittany Lions. The senior has two plate appearances this season.

Penn State will open the Big Ten Tournament at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 22, against Illinois. The game will be televised on the Big Ten Network.
