Penn State Wrestling Releases 2024-25 Big Ten Opponents

Fresh off another national championship, Penn State wrestling has set its Big Ten opposition for the 2024-25 season.

Penn State will face Iowa, Michigan, Michigan State, and Maryland at home. The Nittany Lions will travel to face Nebraska, Illinois, Ohio State, and Rutgers.

Iowa is one of Penn State’s most notable Big Ten matchups in the coming year. The Hawkeyes finished fifth in the NCAA National Championships last season. Penn State’s last dual meet loss came in a 19-17 defeat to Iowa in January 2020. Iowa also beat out Penn State for the team national championship race in 2021.

With the full schedule set to release later in the year, Penn State will likely be the betting favorite to win the Big Ten and National Championship. Star returning talent such as Carter Starocci and Greg Kerkvliet will be crucial for the success of the Nittany Lions during a gritty conference schedule.

Outside of the conference, Penn State will face American University in February 2025. No other opponents have been released.
