Penn State Men’s Lacrosse Names 2025 Team Captains
Jack Fracyon, Kevin Parnham, and Matt Traynor will serve as the Penn State men’s lacrosse team captains this season, the team announced Tuesday.
Fracyon has been the starting goalie for the past two years and has been named Big Ten Specialist of the Year in those seasons. Fracyon had an immense junior year, also being named an Inside Lacrosse and USA Lacrosse Magainze All-American, as well as First Team All-Big Ten pick. He led the Big Ten is regular season save percentage at .589 and saves per game, averaging 13.88.
The goalie had a career-high 19 saves in a game last season against Michigan and allowed fewer than 10 goals in 11 different games. Fracyon was awarded the No. 11 jersey for the upcoming season, given to a player who has preserved in the face of adversity in honor of former player Michael Jacober.
Parnham is a force to be reckoned with on defense for the Nittany Lions. Throughout his 32 games, the defender has scooped 68 ground balls and caused 23 turnovers. He was a large part of Penn State advancing to the Big Ten Tournament championship game, recording two forced turnovers and grabbing three ground balls for the win.
Parnham was awarded the No. 16 jersey for the upcoming season which is awarded to a senior best representing the “Heart of a Competitor” in honor of former player Connor Darcey.
Traynor had a career-high junior season, always finding a way to get off shots nobody else could manage. He recorded 45 goals and seven assists last season, with four goals or more in four different games. The attacker was third in the Big Ten for goals and seventh in points.
Traynor was named to the All-Big Ten second team and was a two-time Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week. He recorded a career-high seven goals in a 20-9 victory over Cornell in his record season.
