Gameday Coverage: No. 10 Penn State vs. Kent State

Penn State football is set to return to Beaver Stadium after an idle week last week. According to James Franklin, the bye week was beneficial and was used to correct some of the glaring issues that arose during the game against Bowling Green.

Penn State will face Kent State on Saturday, one of the worst teams in the FBS, before the Nittany Lions open Big Ten play next week.

Here’s everything you need to know about what should be a decisive victory for the blue and white.

Television

Saturday’s contest will air on the Big Ten Network. Jeff Levering will handle the play-by-play while former Michigan tight end Jake Butt will be the analyst. Brooke Fletcher will be the crew’s sideline reporter.

Weather

Saturday will be a mix of clouds and sun with a high of 75°, according to AccuWeather. There’s a 45% chance of precipitation, and, for the third straight game, Accuweather says a lightning delay can’t be ruled out.

Last Meeting

This year will be the seventh time that the Nittany Lions line up against the Golden Flashes. The teams last met in 2018, with Penn State winning 63-10.

Injuries

The Nittany Lions are battling a host of early-season injuries. Since the game against Bowling Green, Franklin has announced that tight end Andrew Rappleyea and safety K.J. Winston’s injuries were both long-term.

Betting Lines

Penn State opened as 49-point favorites over the Golden Flashes. The over/under is set at 55 points.
