Tyler Warren Named AP National Player Of The Week

Was there ever any doubt?

Penn State football tight end Tyler Warren was named the Associated Press National Player of the Week for his performance in Penn State’s 33-30 victory over USC.

Warren’s 17 receptions tied an FBS record for most receptions in a single game and were the most receptions in a game since 1982.

Warren also set a Penn State record for single-game receiving yards by a tight end with his 224 yards on the day. Warren’s game-breaking performance included a 32-yard receiving touchdown on a trick play to start Penn State’s 19-point comeback.

Warren’s performance on Saturday was the highlight of a great start to his season as he is making good on his preseason John Mackey Award watch list nomination.
