Saquon Barkley Named NFC Offensive Player Of The Week

Former Penn State football running back Saquon Barkley was named NFC Offensive Player of the Week for his performance against his former team, the New York Giants. This was the second time this season that Barkley earned this honor with the Philadelphia Eagles since his week one performance against the Green Bay Packers.

Barkley ran the ball 17 times for 176 yards and one rushing touchdown against the Giants, while also recording two catches for 11 receiving yards during the 28-3 win.

Barkley, a Pennsylvania native, played for the Nittany Lions from 2015-17. During his time at Penn State, he established himself as one of the best running backs in Penn State history. Barkley finished his Penn State career as its all-time rushing touchdown and total touchdown leader before being drafted at No. 2 overall by the New York Giants in the 2018 NFL draft.

In six games played this season, Barkley has rushed for 658 yards with five touchdowns with 103 receiving yards with one receiving touchdown.
