Malick Daouda & Ben Liscum Earn Big Ten Postseason Awards

Two Penn State men’s soccer players earned Big Ten honors on Friday afternoon. Freshman Malick Daouda earned a spot on the All-Big Ten Freshman Team, while redshirt junior captain Ben Liscum collected the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award.

Daouda made an instant impact for the Nittany Lions this season. The Montreal native started 15 games for Penn State this season, firing in two goals, one of which was game-winner against Michigan State in September. He won Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors for that performance. Daouda was also listed at No. 16 in TopDrawerSoccer’s Midseason Top-100 Freshman list in October.

Liscum served as one of Penn State’s captains this season. The Big Ten Sportsmanship Award selects one member of each team who demonstrates sportsmanship and ethical behavior on the field while maintaining good academic standing. Liscum dawned the blue and white in 16 games this season, starting in 14 and scoring one goal against St. Bonaventure in September.

This marked Liscum’s second time winning the Sportsmanship Award, having earned the honor in his redshirt freshman 2022 season.
