Jalen Pickett Named NBA G League Player Of The Week

Former Penn State men’s basketball guard Jalen Pickett was named the NBA G League’s Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday afternoon.

Pickett’s 26.5 points per game were the sixth-most in the league, while his 10.8 rebounds and nine assists ranked No. 7 and No. 2, respectively, as he led the Grand Rapids Gold to a 3-1 start.

The 25-year-old playing in his second year with the Gold, the Denver Nuggets’ G League affiliate, was selected with the No. 32 overall pick by the Indiana Pacers in the 2023 NBA Draft following a two-year career with the Nittany Lions.

In his senior season at Penn State, Pickett dropped 17.7 points per game and led the blue and white to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. He went on to be named the first Wooden Award All-American in program history.
