Former Penn State Football Wide Receiver Omari Evans Transfers To Washington

Former Penn State football wide receiver Omari Evans is transferring to Washington, according to On3. He has one year of eligibility remaining.

Evans had 415 receiving yards and five touchdowns last season. He totaled 564 yards and seven touchdowns over his three years in Happy Valley.

The junior from Killeen, Texas, struggled to consistently make plays in Penn State’s otherwise potent offense last season. He had five games without a catch, including three consecutive in the middle of the season and the Nittany Lions’ College Football Playoff semifinal loss against Notre Dame in the Orange Bowl earlier this month.

Evans joins former Texas Longhorn Johntay Cook II as wideouts to join Washington. Denzel Boston, the Huskies’ top option, is likely to return to school. The Huskies went 6-7 overall and 4-5 in their first season in the Big Ten and with head coach Jedd Fisch at the helm.

The 6’0″, 190-pound Evans joins fellow wideouts Trey Wallace (Ole Miss), Mekhi Flowers, Feyisayo Oluleye, and Tyler Johnson (East Carolina), as well as Jerry Cross (Memphis), T.A. Cunningham, Cam Miller (Rutgers), Tyrese Mills, and Beau Pribula (Mizzou), in entering the transfer portal this offseason.

Penn State has shuffled its wide receiving corps without starters Evans and Wallace. The Nittany Lions landed USC’s Kyron Hudson and Troy’s Devante Ross, who could join Liam Clifford or Tyseer Denmark in rounding out the team’s starting trio at the position.
