Report: Former Penn State Football Safety Tyrece Mills Transfers To UConn

Former Penn State football safety Tyrece Mills has signed to transfer to UConn, according to On3’s Pete Nakos. Mills departed the Nittany Lions’ program in mid-January.

Mills, a redshirt junior, came to Penn State after two years at Lackawanna Community College. Mills recorded 45 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, one sack, five pass breakups, and four interceptions.

The safety transferred to Penn State in 2022 and redshirted that season. In 2023, he appeared in six games and made two tackles. In 2024, Mills recorded 15 tackles, one pass breakup, and one interception in the Fiesta Bowl.
