Penn State Field Hockey’s Sophia Gladieux Named To U.S. National Team

Former Penn State field hockey star Sophia Gladieux was named to the United States National Team, USA Field Hockey announced on Tuesday.

Gladieux will suit up in the red, white, and blue alongside goalkeeper Jenny Rizzo, who played at Penn State from 2016-19.

With 20 goals this past season, Gladieux was named to the All-Big Ten First Team for the fifth consecutive season.

Gladieux will rejoin the national team after becoming the program’s fourth player to be an Olympian, as she netted one goal during her time in the Paris 2024 Olympics.

The United States squad is set to play in the FIH Hockey Nations Cup in Santiago, Chile, from February 23 to March 2 before the Pan American Cup this summer.
