Report: Penn State Football Defensive End Amin Vanover Denied Sixth Year Of NCAA Eligibility

Former Penn State football defensive end Amin Vanover had an NCAA eligibility waiver for his sixth season denied, according to Tyler Donohue of 247 Sports.
Following the Orange Bowl, Vanover applied for his sixth season of eligibility. However, the request was denied. The specifics of the request were never made available to the public.
Vanover made an appearance in 45 games over five years with the Nittany Lions, including three starts in the 2024 season. The senior had 50 career tackles, 26 solo, with 11.5 tackles for loss and six sacks. Vanover also forced two fumbles during his time in Happy Valley.
The defensive end was the third most-used edge rusher by Penn State in 2024, behind only Dani Dennis-Sutton and Abdul Carter. Vanover will now focus on the 2025 NFL draft, where he’ll have a delayed start in terms of preparation.
