LaVar Arrington ll To Wear No. 11 For Penn State Football Next Season

LaVar Arrington ll will wear No. 11 as a true freshman for Penn State football next season, per the team’s official roster. Arrington is the son of LaVar Arrington, one of Penn State’s best-ever linebackers who is credited with starting the team’s No. 11 tradition.

The elder Arrington was a two-time First-Team All-American who also wore No. 11. He played for the Nittany Lions from 1997 to 1999 before becoming the second overall pick in the NFL Draft.

The most recent Nittany Lions to wear No. 11 were Micah Parsons and Abdul Carter, the former of whom was a first-round draft pick and the latter of whom is set to be a top-five selection.

Arrington ll, an Annapolis, Maryland, native, will suit up for Penn State after playing his high school football at Charter Oak in California. Per 247Sports, Arrington ll chose the blue and white over Tennessee, Michigan, Washington, and more.

Arrington ll originally committed to the Nittany Lions on July 4, 2024, before officially enrolling this semester.
