Hunter Aquino Named Big Ten Freshman Of The Week

Penn State men’s lacrosse midfielder Hunter Aquino was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week following his first career hat-trick in the Nittany Lions’ overtime loss to No. 5 Princeton on Saturday. In addition, Aquino also assisted two goals in the affair for his first career five-point game.

Aquino scored back-to-back goals in the first and second quarters before completing the hat trick with a fourth-quarter score to further spark Penn State’s comeback attempt. Aquino’s current season totals stand at six goals and three assists for nine points, good for second on the team behind senior Matt Traynor.

Aquino and the Nittany Lions return to Panzer Stadium to battle Navy at 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 22.
