An Ode To The DJs At THON

Never underestimate the power of an EDM set.
As we all know, THON lasts a long time — 46 hours to be precise. But most people forget that THON is also a dance marathon, and what good is a dance marathon with bad music? Well, we wouldn’t know anything about bad DJs because THON 2025 has seen some of the most incredible DJs.
Simply put, DJs are the backbone of the entertainment at THON. When your feet are aching and you feel as if you can’t Dougie much longer, the record scratches, and an old Rihanna hit comes on. All is right in the world.
When you think about THON, you think about community, and a community works together. For the past weekend, DJs have been shaking the walls of the BJC with classics like “Sweet Caroline,” “Life Is a Highway,” and of course, “Seven Nation Army.”
To the DJs, thank you for your commitment to bringing us hit after hit. When we feel like we may fall, you remind us the only things dropping are your beats. From the early mornings to the late nights, we forget about the time and get lost in your seamless transitions.
Your tireless hours put into mixing and mastering your craft don’t go unnoticed, as we, the students, flock to our seats, grabbing our friends hand-in-hand to scream lyrics.
You pick us up when we feel there is no fight left, and remind us, like the message of THON, that someday this dancing will lead to a day where we dance in celebration of a cure.
While we hope you’ll be there to celebrate with us, for now, we’ll dance our hearts out for the hope of it all.
