What You Can Buy With The 2025 THON Total Of $17,737,040.93

THON broke its fundraising total for the fourth consecutive year last weekend, raising a remarkable $17,737,040.93 For The Kids. While this figure is impressive, few people can actually grasp just how much money $17.7 million truly is. To help provide some perspective, we got to thinking: what can you buy with this amount of dough?

We brainstormed a few things you could purchase if you were given a pile of cash of such a magnitude. Prices may fluctuate, so take these numbers with a grain of salt.

3,583,240 Dozens Of Eggs

Eggs are quite pricey these days, with the national average rising to $4.95 a dozen courtesy of a bird flu outbreak. But thanks to your $18 million acquisition, you will have enough supply for your entire life, plus some long after you’re gone.

What can someone possibly do with this many eggs? For starters, try making 42,998,880 plates of Onward State’s carbonara (we tried, we failed).

886,852 Nights Of LineLeap

Having access to $17.7 million means you will never have to wait in line for a bar again. Penn State is the number one LineLeap school in the country, with hundreds of students using it to cut lines downtown and decrease wait times significantly.

With the average pass costing roughly $20 per outing, folks searching for a fun night out, without limited constraints, can do so for their whole college career and beyond.

70 Wrigley Fields

Opened in 1914, Wrigley Field in Chicago is one of the most iconic stadiums in sports. Home to the Cubs for over 100 years, Wrigley is one of only two stadiums in Major League Baseball that was constructed for under $1 million dollars, costing a grand total of $250,000.

However, if you wanted to purchase 70 versions of “The Friendly Confines” in 2025, you might be out of luck. Accounting for inflation, the ballpark is worth almost $8 million in today’s society.

0.025 Beaver Stadium Renovations

Beaver Stadium, the cathedral of Penn State football, is undergoing some serious changes. In May of 2024, the Board of Trustees voted to approve a $700 million renovation plan that will propel the stadium into the future of design and fan experience.

While you can’t physically buy the renovations, people have already contributed millions of dollars in donations, many doing so anonymously.

If you don’t feel like helping out with funding for the project, please consider donating the money to NIL funds. I would like to witness a National Championship. Thank you.

One Bugatti La Voiture Noire

The Bugatti La Voiture Noire is one of the most expensive cars on the market. Designed as a tribute to the Type 57 SC Atlantic, only 10 of these elusive vehicles exist in circulation. It can reach 260 mph and can go from 0 mph to 60 mph in 2.4 seconds.

While being able to buy one of these for $17.7 million is a rough estimate, the truth is that you would actually need a couple of million dollars more to compensate for the tax. Despite the high price tag, car collectors out there are dying to get their hands on this luxurious automobile.

2,956,173 Scoops Of Creamery Ice Cream

The Berkey Creamery provides its customers with some of the best quality ice cream in the world. And with the amount of money raised for THON, you can buy an endless amount of it.

Keep in mind that the calculated number is only for in-store, hand-scooped purchases. Ordering half gallons will bring the figure down, as two half gallons cost nearly $100 to ship.

Whether you opt for THON Golden Ribbon Ripple or otherwise, ice cream for dinner is in your future.

136,438 Saquon Barkley Jerseys

Pennsylvania hero and Penn State alum Saquon Barkley just won the Super Bowl. And with the THON total, you can buy yourself a boatload of his merchandise.

In fact, 136,438 is enough to purchase three jerseys for everyone who lives in State College. With options in Eagles’ Kelly green, Penn State white, or even Giants’ blue (sorry), the combinations are endless.

1.3 Bahamian Islands

Instead of spending your millions on tropical vacations, why not put it towards purchasing an island in the Caribbean?

The average price for a small to mid-sized private island in the Bahamas is around $12 million, though options are available for much less as well. Serenity Island is a “feasible” option for your budget, coming in at $13.7 million. With 40 acres of forest and white sand beaches, your purchase can make spring break one for the books. Piña Coladas and daiquiris are not included.

17,737,040 Dollar Vodka Sodas

In what is perhaps the most popular bar promotion at Penn State, Dollar Vodka Soda Night at Champs occurs every Thursday evening. And if you can get your hands on the THON total, you would have enough to splurge on an equivalent amount of these beverages.

We highly suggest that you don’t spend your money on an amount of vodka sodas anywhere close to this. To put it in perspective, we’re talking 851 drinks per night every single day for the average adult lifespan. Make smart choices, Penn State. Invest in some water, and maybe academics as well.
