[Photo Story] Lady Lions’ 2024-25 Season

The 2024-25 Penn State women’s basketball season officially came to an end with the Lady Lions’ 75-70 loss to Rutgers.

After making a postseason appearance in the WBIT last year, the Lady Lions, featuring an almost entirely new roster, hoped to do the same. Despite an 8-0 start to the season, the team finished last in the Big Ten.

While the season didn’t unfold as many had hoped, our photographers were there every step of the way. From gritty plays to bench celebrations, they captured it all. We’ve compiled some of the best moments from the Lady Lions’ 2024-25 season.

For the second consecutive year, the Lady Lions showcased their skills at Rec Hall in their “Return to Rec” game.

The team stayed scrappy, causing turnovers when it could.

In just her first year with the Lady Lions, redshirt sophomore Gracie Merkle led the team in points, rebounds, and blocks per game.

Bench celebrations for the win.

FOR THREEEE…

In their 19th annual Pink Zone game in the fight against breast cancer, the Lady Lions showed out in their pink uniforms. Despite a loss to Wisconsin, the message “this is bigger than basketball” rang true.

The Lady Lions made sure to communicate on the court.

Despite a tough season, we’ll just have to wait until next year for more moments like these.
