UPUA Vice President Rasha Elwakil Announces UPUA Presidency Campaign

It’s almost election time, folks.

University Park Undergraduate Association (UPUA) Vice President Rasha Elwakil has launched her campaign to run for UPUA President, alongside her running mate Fletcher Port, the UPUA speaker of the assembly.

“Alongside Fletcher, I am ready to amplify marginalized voices, improve infrastructure, strengthen government outreach, and push for the critical changes our campus needs,” Elwakil wrote in a statement. “Together, we can make Penn State a more inclusive, sustainable, and forward-thinking university.”

“Our Penn State education is not just an education, but an experience,” Porter echoed. “One where Penn State students deserve equitable opportunities to thrive.”

Registration to run for a UPUA position will close at 5 p.m. on March 24, and elections will be held on April 2. Thus far, only Mike Fowler and Ben Lindgren have announced their candidacy to challenge for the helm of Penn State’s student government.
