Report: Penn State Football Defensive Lineman Joseph Mupoyi Signs With North Carolina

Penn State football defensive lineman Joseph Mupoyi has signed with North Carolina after entering the transfer portal on April 22, per 247Sports’ Matt Zenitz.

The redshirt sophomore appeared in two games in the 2024 season, recording one tackle against Kent State. He was also named the coaching staff’s Developmental Squad Player of the Week during the Ohio State and Boise State games.

Mupoyi was the 40th-ranked edge rusher and No. 2 overall recruit in Connecticut in the 2023 recruiting class, per the 247Sports Composite rankings. With three years of eligibility remaining, Mupoyi joins a Tar Heel team led by head coach Bill Belichick.
