Former Penn State Hoops Forward Hudson Ward Transfers To Western Michigan

Penn State hoops forward Hudson Ward has committed to transfer to Western Michigan, his agency Weave announced Thursday evening.

Ward saw the floor eight times for Penn State in his 2024-25 freshman campaign, totaling 21 minutes on the year. He predominantly saw action against non-conference competition early in the season, but he got his first taste of Big Ten play against Ohio State and UCLA late in the year. He attempted two field goals and grabbed five boards.

The Alberta, Canada, native came out of Western Canada Prep Academy and was a four-star recruit in the class of 2024, per the 247 Composite rankings. The 6’7″ and 210-pound small forward also ranked as the No. 28 prospect at the position.

Ward became the first Nittany Lion to find a new home this spring. Kachi Nzeh, Jahvin Carter, and Miles Goodman remain in the portal.
