Former Penn State Football Kicker Chase Meyer Transfers To Cal

Former Penn State football kicker Chase Meyer has committed to transfer to Cal, he announced Thursday. He has two years of eligibility remaining as a grad transfer.

Meyer’s collegiate career kicked off at Penn in 2022, where he appeared in eight games, predominantly doing kickoffs. He totaled 36 kicks for 1,881 yards and only one touchback before transferring to Tulsa ahead of his sophomore season.

Meyer won the starting kicker position at Tulsa and appeared in all 12 of the Golden Hurricane’s games in 2023. He converted 17-of-20 field goals and 30-of-31 extra point attempts. His performance earned him third-team All-AAC honors.

Meyer transferred to Penn State ahead of the 2024 season. He redshirted and sat behind Sander Sahaydak and Ryan Barker in the kicking room. He was named to the Lou Groza Award preseason watchlist. Meyer was expected to be Barker’s backup going into 2025.

The Mater Dei High School product joins Jon Mitchell, Ta’Mere Robinson, and Joseph Mupoyi as former Nittany Lions to find a new home this spring.
