Nittany Lion Wrestling Club’s Kyle Snyder Arrested During Prostitution Sting

Nittany Lion Wrestling Club member and Olympic Gold medalist Kyle Snyder was arrested as part of a prostitution sting in Columbus, Ohio, the Columbus Division of Police confirmed on Monday.

According to Columbus Police Sgt. Joe Albert, an undercover operation aimed at reducing prostitution by the Police and Community Together (PACT) unit took place on the north side of the city on May 9. The operation involved the police posting ads for escort services on the internet.

Snyder called and texted the police in response to the ads at 8:15 p.m., where he arranged for a meeting at a hotel, Albert said. Snyder paid an undercover officer cash and asked for a sexual act.

He was arrested for engaging in prostitution and released at the scene. Snyder is set to appear in court on May 19.

As a freestyle wrestler representing the United States, Snyder won a gold medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro and silver at the 2020 Tokyo games. He placed fifth at the Paris Games in 2024. He also has three gold medals in the World Championships, and seven Pan American Championship gold medals.
