Four Penn State Men’s Lacrosse Players Earn Inside Lacrosse All-American Honors

Four Penn State men’s lacrosse players were named All-Americans by Inside Lacrosse, the organization announced Wednesday. The same four Penn Staters who made USA Lacrosse’s All-American teams last week were recognized as All-Americans by Inside Lacrosse. Matt Traynor, Alex Ross, Hunter Aquino, and Kevin Parnham were recognized.
Midfielder Aquino made the second-team All-American as the rookie had an incredible campaign, scoring 15 goals and 18 assists, for 33 points this season. This led him to be named the Big Ten Freshman of the Year.
Traynor, Ross, and Parnham were the last three Penn State selections as they were named All-American honorable mentions. Traynor scored 33 goals and 16 assists this season, leading the Big Ten in points and goals per game. The Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year was recently selected as the No. 6 overall pick of the PLL College Draft by the New York Atlas.
Ross was a key contributor to Penn State’s defense as he compiled 24 ground balls, 21 caused turnovers, and one goal this season. This earned him a second-team All-Big Ten nod after securing a Defensive Player of the Week honor earlier in the season.
As for Parnham, he was a key contributor on Penn State’s defense, leading the team in caused turnovers with 25, which ranks 14th in the nation. He was recently selected in the fourth round of the PLL College Draft by the Denver Outlaws.
The No. 5-ranked Nittany Lions will take on Notre Dame at noon on Sunday, May 18, at Navy-Marine Corps Stadium in Annapolis, Maryland, in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament. The game will be televised on ESPNU.
