Tyler Warren & Maddie Gordon Earn Penn State’s Big Ten Medal Of Honor

Tyler Warren and Maddie Gordon were named Penn State’s recipients of the Big Ten Medal of Honor Tuesday afternoon. The award is presented annually to one male and one female student-athlete who show excellence on and off the field.

Warren, a tight end, was instrumental in Penn State football’s run to the College Football Playoff semifinal, going for 104 receptions, 1,233 yards, and eight touchdowns as a senior. Following his four years as a Nittany Lion, Warren was drafted No. 14 overall by the Indianapolis Colts in the 2025 NFL Draft.

While being a star on the field, Warren earned degrees in advertising and public relations, as well as telecommunications.

In her senior year, Gordon tallied 51 hits, including 13 doubles and 12 home runs for the Penn State softball team. It was also Gordon’s second straight year with more than 40 runs batted in.

Gordon also earned two degrees, in recreation, park, and tourism management and health and human development. She was also an active member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

The conference began awarding student-athletes with the Medal of Honor in 1915, and with over 10,000 athletes representing the Big Ten, only two from each university earn it each year.
