Penn State Football Announces 2025 Game Themes

Beaver Stadium Saturdays are back in one month, folks.

Penn State football has announced its game themes for the 2025 season. The Nittany Lions will take on Nevada in the season opener in the 107K Family Reunion game, FIU in the THON game, Villanova for All-U Day, Northwestern in the Homecoming and Stripe Out game, Indiana in the Helmet Stripe and Military Appreciation game, and Nebraska on Senior Day. The annual White Out game is slated for September 27 against Oregon.

Penn State will take on FIU on September 6 at noon on the Big Ten Network, where THON families and volunteers are invited to the game. The team will also wear THON helmet stickers.

Penn State will commemorate All-U Day against Villanova on September 13, recognizing students from all Penn State campuses in a halftime celebration. Kickoff is slated for 3:30 p.m. on FS1.

The Nittany Lions will enter the back half of the season with the Homecoming and Stripe Out game against Northwestern. Penn State Homecoming will honor the 2025 Guide State Forward award winners during the game, and the team will don its “Generations of Greatness” uniforms, last worn in the College Football Playoff first-round win over SMU.

The team’s November 8 matchup against Indiana will see Beaver Stadium transformed for the Helmet Stripe and Military Appreciation game, which will honor ROTC elite, active-duty personnel, veterans, and military families during the game. This is the fourth Helmet Stripe layout in Beaver Stadium history. Penn State fell to Ohio State 20-13 in last season’s edition.

The final regular season game at Beaver Stadium against Nebraska on November 22 will honor the team’s seniors. The matchup will also serve as Parents and Families Day, Penn State Faculty/Staff Appreciation Day, Educator Appreciation Day, and First Responders Appreciation Day.
