Kaytron Allen & Nick Singleton Named To Doak Walker Award Watch List

Penn State football running back duo Kaytron Allen and Nick Singleton have been named to the Doak Walker Award watch list, which annually recognizes the best running back in college football.

Both backs were named to the Maxwell Award watch list in late July alongside quarterback Drew Allar, which recognizes the best player in college football. Allen and Singleton were one of two college football running back duos to rush for 1,000+ yards each in 2024, and both need just over 1,000 in 2025 to break Evan Royster’s all-time rushing yards program record.

Singleton was also named to the Walter Camp Award watch list and Big Ten Players to Watch list earlier in the offseason. The duo was previously named to the Doak Walker Award watch list in both 2024 and 2023.

Penn State has only taken home the award once when former first-round pick Larry Johnson won it in 2002.
