[Photo Story] Penn State vs. Nevada

Penn State football is back, folks.

The No. 2 Nittany Lions dominantly opened their season on Saturday afternoon, clinching a 46–11 victory over Nevada. The Wolf Pack made the 2,463-mile trip to Beaver Stadium, but Penn State gave them little to celebrate, overwhelming Nevada on both sides of the ball and clutching an easy win.

Our photographers were on-site to capture the gameday scenes. Here are some of the best shots.

Even with renovations ongoing, Beaver Stadium was ready — and still a beauty.

The team arrived with Penn State’s first female drum major, Ellie Sheehan, and Blue Sapphire, Mackenzie Bronk, leading the way.

For the first time in 2025, players took the field to get some stretches in.

The pads came on, and it was all gas, no brakes for the rest of warmups.

Just minutes after kickoff, cornerback AJ Harris recovered a loose ball, giving Penn State early momentum.

After a touchdown by Nick Singleton, Zane Durant intercepted Nevada’s first play of the next drive, setting Penn State up at the six-yard line.

Kaytron Allen opened the second quarter with a 12-yard rushing touchdown, celebrating with his trademark kick.

Dani Dennis-Sutton dominated the field, consistently giving Nevada trouble.

New Penn State receiver Kyron Hudson made an immediate impact on Penn State’s offense, contributing 75 yards and a touchdown before the half.

Nittanyville showed out for the season opener with various costumes. Some were very a-peel-ing.

Penn State maintained a commanding lead throughout the second half, leaving Nevada little room to gain on the field.

After Drew Allar’s day was done, Ethan Grunkemeyer stepped in and scored his first career touchdown.

The game ended with all smiles and a Nittany Lions victory.

Penn State will continue its 2025 season in a face-off against FIU at noon on Saturday, September 6, at Beaver Stadium. Folks can watch the game on the Big Ten Network.
