Penn State Switching To Mobile IDs Only On September 15

In an effort to streamline university operations, Penn State is switching to a one-credential system beginning September 15. If you currently have your Penn State ID activated as a mobile ID on your phone as well as your physical card, your physical card will be deactivated.

The “Mobile-First” initiative began in January 2024, and the university has been working to transition University Park and the Commonwealth campuses to the mobile Id+.

Students who don’t want to switch to the mobile system have the option to use the physical ID only, but they may not have duplicate credentials.

Any student who still needs to activate their mobile ID can watch this video or direct any questions to [email protected].
