Big Ten Men’s Basketball Tournament Expanded To 18-Team Field, Women’s Tournament To Stay At 15
The Big Ten Men’s Basketball Tournament field will expand to 18 teams, while the women’s side will remain at the original 15-team field, the conference announced Thursday afternoon.
Last year, the men’s tournament featured 15 teams, and Penn State missed out on it after going 6-14 in conference play and 16-15 overall in the regular season.
Penn State women’s basketball also did not make the Big Ten Tournament last year, going just 1-17 in conference play and 10-19 overall.
The Nittany Lions’ conference schedule was released Thursday, with 10 home and 10 away conference games. The Lady Lions have yet to release a full schedule, but their home and away opponents are known.
The men’s tournament will be played from March 11-15, 2026, at the United Center in Chicago. The women’s tournament is scheduled for March 4-8 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
