Gameday Coverage: No. 7 Penn State vs. UCLA

Happy gameday, folks!

No. 7 Penn State football is out west for its first road trip of the season to take on the winless UCLA Bruins. The Nittany Lions are coming off of a double-overtime loss to Oregon in the White Out and look to get right ahead of midseason. What better place for Penn State to right its wrongs than the iconic Rose Bowl?

Here’s everything you need to know for Penn State’s week six matchup in Los Angeles.

Penn State will play on CBS for the second time in 2025 with Brad Nessler on play-by-play, Gary Danielson on color commentary, and Jenny Dell reporting from the sidelines. Kickoff is slated for 3:30 p.m. EST.

Local: 99.5 & 103.7 FM / 1450 AM, Sirius XM: 83/380

Injuries

Penn State is slowly getting healthier. The Nittany Lions only had 14 players out against Oregon as Andrew Olesh, Mylachi Williams, De’Andre Cook, and Amiel Davis returned to the lineup. Kaden Saunders, Lyrick Samuel, Josiah Brown, Peter Gonzalez, Max Granville, Mason Robinson, Kaleb Artis, Jordan Mayer, Bekkem Kritza, Kari Jackson, Donte Nastasi, Brady O’Hara, and Liam Horan remained out. Tony Rojas will also be out due to a long-term injury.

Series History

UCLA holds a 4-3 series lead over Penn State, but the Nittany Lions took home a 27-11 win last season in Beaver Stadium in the two squads’ first matchup since 1968. Penn State also won that 1968 matchup 21-6. UCLA won four consecutive contests from 1964 to 1967, but the Nittany Lions topped the Bruins 17-14 in their first-ever matchup in 1963. Penn State can even the series and establish a three-game streak with a win on Saturday.
