Goaltender John Seifarth No Longer Listed On Penn State Men’s Hockey Roster

Update, 5:17 p.m.:
Penn State men’s hockey head coach confirmed at his weekly media availability Tuesday that Seifarth is no longer with the team.
“He’s been away all semester to focus on academics, and then just this week, decided that he’s going to step away permanently this year. He wants to graduate on time and do well academically,” Gadowsky said.
Gadowsky also said the coaching staff has plans to bring a third goaltender onto the team.
Original Story
Penn State senior men’s hockey goaltender John Seifarth is no longer listed on the team’s official roster as of Tuesday.
Seifarth spent just last season with the Nittany Lions, appearing in six games after starting netminder Arsenii Sergeev went down with an injury. The Pittsburgh native had a 3-2 record with a .918 save percentage over those appearances.
Prior to his time with Guy Gadowsky’s squad, Seifarth was a member of the Penn State club men’s hockey team. As a sophomore, he had a .912 save percentage and 4-6 record.
The roster removal comes about a month after Seifarth’s supposed girlfriend Izzy Starck announced her departure from the Penn State women’s volleyball program. She is also no longer on Penn State’s official roster.
Penn State men’s hockey now has two goaltenders in Kevin Reidler and Josh Fleming.
