Penn State Football Unveils Retro End Zones Ahead Of Northwestern Game

Penn State football posted a new retro look end zone on its social media on Wednesday, ahead of its “Generations of Greatness” game against Northwestern.

The end zones inside Beaver Stadium will don a retro look for the Nittany Lions’ Homecoming game against the Wildcats. The Penn State script logo from the late 20th century and early 2000s is an iconic look across college football and a fan favorite in Happy Valley.

It’s not the first time Penn State has changed its end zone art in the “Generations of Greatness” game, dating back to the first edition in 2017. The grounds crew first added the diamond “PSU” look in 2017 when Indiana came to town.

In years past, the Beaver Stadium grass has seen the diamond pattern look and a fancier script version of “Penn State,” as well, and on Saturday, this version of the retro end zones will be accompanied by a new twist to the Penn State throwback uniforms, with the addition of the white collar.
