Penn State men’s soccer picked up its first weekly award this season with goalkeeper Jonathan Evans named Big Ten Freshman of the Week on Tuesday.

In two games last week, Evans allowed only one goal and racked up eight saves. He secured Penn State’s important Big Ten win over Michigan State, putting them back into the tournament race.

Evans ranks fourth in the Big Ten for save percentage at 73.5% on the season.

The Nittany Lions return to play for a cross-country trip to California to take on UCLA on Friday, October 10. The game will kick off at 10 p.m. Eastern and be streamed on Big Ten Plus.
