Class Of 2027 Five-Star Running Back Kemon Spell Decommits From Penn State Football

Class of 2027 five-star running back Kemon Spell has decommitted from Penn State football, per On3’s Hayes Fawcett. Spell had been committed to the Nittany Lions since August 2024.

Spell is listed as the No. 1 player in Pennsylvania, No. 1 running back in the class of 2027, and No. 8 player in the nation, per the 247 Composite rankings.

Spell was one of Penn State’s highest-rated commits ever, easily topping Penn State’s list of 2027 recruits as the only five-star. While he was the Nittany Lions’ first commit of the class, Spell had a very flip-flop mentality as Penn State went through its 2025 season, especially after picking up an offer from Georgia in early October.

He is the fourth player to decommit from Penn State in the last seven days. Layton Von Brandt, Gabriel Jacobos, and Kahlil Taylor all announced their decommitments as well. What once was the No. 2 recruiting class in the country has no commits left.

Spell has expressed interest in his offers from Georgia, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, and Tennessee.
