Class Of 2027 Four-Star Defensive Back Gabriel Jenkins Decommits From Penn State Football

Class of 2027 four-star defensive back Gabriel Jenkins has decommitted from Penn State football, per On3’s Hayes Fawcett. The move comes after James Franklin’s firing on Sunday. Jenkins committed to the Nittany Lions in August.

Jenkins is listed as the No. 11 player in Pennsylvania, No. 26 safety in the class of 2027, and No. 241 player in the nation, according to the 247 Composite rankings. The Imani Christian Academy product joins fellow four-star Khalil Taylor as 2027 recruits to decommit from Penn State football in the midst of its disastrous 3-3 start to the 2025 season.

Penn State is currently left with pledges from five-star running back Kemon Spell and four-star offensive tackle Layton Von Brandt in the class of 2027 following Franklin’s firing.

Jenkins holds other Big Ten offers from USC, Nebraska, Michigan State, Maryland, and Indiana.
