Class Of 2027 Five-Star Offensive Tackle Layton Von Brandt Decommits From Penn State Football

When it rains, it pours.
Class of 2027 five-star offensive tackle Layton Von Brandt has decommitted from Penn State football, he announced on Sunday afternoon following James Franklin’s firing. He joins four-star wideout Khalil Taylor and four-star defensive back Gabriel Jenkins as 2027 recruits to decommit from Penn State in the past three days.
Von Brandt committed to the Nittany Lions in November 2024 as Penn State’s second pledge of the 2027 recruiting class. He is tabbed as the No. 1 player in Delaware, No. 5 offensive tackle in the class of 2027, and the No. 36 player in the nation.
Five-star running back Kemon Spell is the sole commit left for Penn State in the class. He stated that he isn’t “100% with Penn State” on Friday.
Von Brandt currently has offers from Big Ten programs Ohio State, Rutgers, and Indiana. Other notable programs include Georgia, Tennessee, Florida, Florida State, and Syracuse.
