El Jefe’s Taqueria Raises Over $30K During THON Fundraiser

El Jefe’s Taqueria raised $30,864 all For The Kids in its fourth annual “El Jefe’s FTK” event, according to a release.

The restaurant donated 100% of every sale on October 14 to THON. 2,201 customers participated in the 20-hour fundraiser.

“To be a part of trying to find a cure for childhood cancer is an honor and a privilege. We do a big daylong fundraiser like this at all of our stores, and we knew that THON was going to be the fundraiser
that we do at our State College store,” El Jefe’s owner John Schall said in the release. “It really is an incredible student-run organization. To be in that arena when it’s all coming to its culmination is a really special thing.”

El Jefe’s has pledged to hold this fundraiser each year until there is a cure found for childhood cancer.

“El Jefe’s Taqueria continues to be an outstanding partner of THON. The staff is committed to
helping raise as much money as possible and THON and the Hospitality Committee are
extremely grateful for the generosity and enthusiasm to continue this special event each year,” THON Hospitality Director Nathan Reish said.
