Penn State football needs our support more than ever. In a season that seemed destined for a downhill spiral after the firing of James Franklin, the Nittany Lions are now just two wins away from qualifying for a bowl game under interim head coach Terry Smith.   

Smith has given his all to this program. He has been a motivator in every sense of the term, and his players have shown unrelenting fight under his tutelage for over a month.

This past weekend, Smith earned his first win as the head coach of Penn State and delivered an emotional press conference in weekly media, underscoring just how much this university means to him.

In what came as a surprise to many, Penn State announced that it would kick off its senior day night matchup against Nebraska in primetime on NBC. With one final home game remaining for the Nittany Lions, and a team that stands two wins away from bowl eligibility with as many games remaining, Beaver Stadium needs to be rocking on Saturday.

It needs to be loud in support of the players, including the seniors who forwent the NFL draft to wear the blue and white one last time. It needs to be loud in support of Smith, who is a Penn Stater through and through, and has made it his mission to make sure that the team will not back down.

And it needs to be loud to show the world that, despite being 4-6, Penn Staters make up the strongest community of fans in the country. Show the media that we support our team through thick and thin. But more importantly, show the recruits the kind of love they will receive if they commit to play for our program.

On Saturday, I urge all fans to wear white. Show the team how much we care, and give Smith the White Out energy that he deserves. We showed up for Franklin when he asked for such a feat; now, let’s do the same for Smith, unprompted.

It’s time to end the home slate with an epic display of unity. Make Beaver Stadium a sea of monochromatic mayhem for one last time in 2025.
