Former Penn State Women’s Volleyball Setter Izzy Starck To Enter Transfer Portal

Former Penn State women’s volleyball setter Izzy Starck will enter the transfer portal in December, she announced via Instagram Thursday.

“I look forward to finding a new home where I can grow in the next chapter of my career,” Starck wrote. “I am beyond grateful for the endless support I’ve received over the past months.”

Starck made the decision to prioritize her mental health and step away from volleyball for the season after she played in each of Penn State’s first four matches. She was removed from the Nittany Lions’ roster a week later.

A key contributor on Penn State’s national championship-winning team in 2024, Starck led the country with 1,483 total assists before going for 70 in the 2-2 start to the 2025 season, all against ranked opponents.

Without Starck, Penn State is currently 15-11 and 9-7 in the Big Ten.

Starck will have two years of eligibility remaining, but could apply for a medical redshirt and gain a third year.
