Jeff Cook Resigns As Penn State Men’s Soccer Head Coach

Jeff Cook is stepping down from his role as the head coach of Penn State men’s soccer, the team announced Friday. Cook leaves Happy Valley to take on a leadership role at an MLS club.
Cook spent eight seasons in Happy Valley, going 66-49-23 overall. The Nittany Lions went 5-8-4 and 1-6-3 in Big Ten play this past season.
“It has been a privilege to lead the men’s soccer program at Penn State for the last eight years,” said Cook in a press release.
“My family and I are beyond grateful for the time we have spent in State College and are deeply appreciative of all that this University has done for us. I’m proud of the accomplishments we have attained, of our student-athletes’ successes on and off the soccer field, and of the countless meaningful friendships that have been built.”
He was named the Big Ten Coach of the Year in both 2021 and 2023, winning the conference regular season and tournament titles in 2021.
Cook led the Nittany Lions to three NCAA Tournament appearances, but failed to do so in each of the last four years.
Prior to his time at Penn State, Cook spent 12 years leading Dartmouth and five with Cincinatti.
