Penn State Football Special Teams Coordinator Justin Lustig Nominated For Broyles Award

Penn State football’s special teams coordinator Justin Lustig was nominated for the Broyles Award, an honor given to the best assistant coach in the country, the team announced Tuesday.

Lustig is one of 63 nominees named. He has helped lead kicker Ryan Barker to a career year; Barker has made 92.9% of his field goals and 97.5% of extra points. Lustig has also helped Penn State record three blocked punts so far this season.

This is his second time nominated for the award after being nominated when he was at Syracuse in 2018. Penn State was represented on the list by former defensive coordinator Tom Allen last year.

The Big Ten was also represented by Ohio State defensive coordinator Matt Patricia and Rutgers’ Kirk Ciarrocca.
