Transfer Portal Roundup: Week 14

Let’s go bowling, folks.
After a noisy season for the Nittany Lions, Penn State closed out its regular season in a bowl-eligible fashion, with a 40-36 win over Rutgers. Kaytron Allen and Nick Singleton continued to break program records, Andrew Rappelyea completed a career performance, and Grunkemeyer earned his third win as the starter. Penn State finishes with a 6-6 record, coming off a three-game win streak, and will get one more to play for the seniors.
In the meantime, many transfers from the Penn State program paved the way this weekend for their new teams to face new rivals and contend for the postseason. Others helped their new programs finish off the season on a high note. Here’s a look at some of their action this week.
Beau Pribula, Missouri
Making his second appearance since returning from injury, the quarterback seemed to regain his rhythm, leading the Tigers to a 31-17 win over Arkansas. While the Tigers kept the ball on the ground for much of the game, recording 322 total rushing yards, Pribula owned 78 of these yards on 16 carries, including one rushing touchdown, as he continues to showcase his mobility. Missouri finishes the season 8-4 and will compete in a to-be-determined bowl.
Harrison Wallace III, Ole Miss
Wide receiver Harrison Wallace III made his first Egg Bowl appearance this rivalry week as a newly found Rebel. Despite the coaching carousel in Oxford, Wallace contributed four receptions for 72 yards, with his longest grab of the day measuring in at 34 yards. He currently leads the team’s receiver room with 719 total yards this season. The No. 7 Rebels would move on to defeat in-state rival Mississippi State 38-19, their third consecutive Egg Bowl victory. Ole Miss finished the regular season 11-1, which is tied for 1st in the SEC. Wallace will likely return to the College Football Playoff as a Rebel.
Omari Evans, Washington
Now wearing the purple and gold, wide receiver Omari Evans faced a new rival out of Oregon this week. Evans made a minimal impact with two receptions for 10 yards. The senior recorded a total of 225 receiving yards this season. Despite the Huskies’ 26-14 loss to No.6 Oregon, they finish 8-4 on the season, making them bowl eligible.
Cam Miller, Rutgers
The defensive back was reunited with and embraced by his former teammates this weekend in Piscataway, despite Rutgers’ 40-36 loss to Penn State. The senior provided a season-best performance with eight tackles, including five solo and three assisted. Rutgers finishes the season 5-7 on the year.
Jordan Van Den Berg, Georgia State
In Atlanta this weekend, the defensive lineman got a taste of a classic Georgia/Georgia State rivalry. Despite a nailbiting 16-9 loss to No. 4 Georgia, Van Den Berg recorded three tackles, all of which were assisted. The No. 23 Yellow Jackets finish 9-3 on the season and will play in a bowl game.
Smith Vilbert & Joseph Mupoyi, UNC
The two former defensive linemen fell 42-19 in the battle for North Carolina against NC State. Smith made a minimal impact, recording one solo tackle. The Tar Heels end the season 4-8.
Alex Bacchetta, Rice
Now with Rice, the punter fell 52-3 to South Florida, but not without completing six punts for 260 yards, with his longest punt of the day measuring in at 51 yards. Rice ends its season 5-7 on the year.
Christian Veilleux, Georgia State
Veilleux, the former quarterback now with Georgia State, made his third appearance at quarterback for the Panthers this season. Despite falling 27-10 to Old Dominion, the senior threw for 154 yards and one touchdown, completing 18-for-37 passes.
