Penn State Football Running Back Nick Singleton Opts Out Of Pinstripe Bowl

Penn State football running back Nick Singleton has opted out of the Bad Boy Mowers Pinstripe Bowl, Rich Scarcella reported for the Reading Eagle. Singleton spent four seasons with the Nittany Lions, playing in 53 games during that span.
While the running back has not officially declared for the 2026 NFL Draft, this likely marks the end of his Penn State career. Scarcella also reported that he will continue to train in Happy Valley and travel with the team to New York for the game.
In his time with Penn State, Singleton rushed for 3461 yards and 45 touchdowns on 622 attempts. He averaged just over 65 yards per game on under 12 attempts. The Shillington, Pennsylvania, native also added 102 receptions for 987 yards and nine touchdowns.
Singleton was able to go to the 2025 NFL Draft, but, along with fellow running back Kaytron Allen, decided to come back for this season.
“We still have goals we want to reach as a team, and I want to be alongside my teammates as we reach those goals,” Singleton wrote in his return message. “I am scheduled to graduate this fall and will earn a degree from Penn State University, which has always been a goal for me.”
While the National Championship expectations were not met in 2025, Singleton still did well enough individually to likely land himself on an NFL roster next year. In 2025, he had 123 rushing attempts for 549 yards and 13 touchdowns.
Singleton joined Zakee Wheatley and Zane Durant as Nittany Lions who have opted out of the bowl game.
