A Recap Of The Best Finals Week Posts: YikYak Edition

Students had a lot to say during finals week — and YikYak heard it all. From pre-exam to post-exam stress, Penn State students used the app as a form of group therapy last week.

Here are some of the best posts we rounded up.

Pre-Exam Posts

Nothing like opening your textbook to content that you literally have never seen in your life. Let’s put down the drinks and go to some office hours.
It’s never too early to start studying.
Even though the library should be a study place of peace and quiet, many students had posted about the absolute chaos. Apparently, if you studied at the library this week, it was “performative studying,” with frequent studiers claiming they deserve “priority seating”.
Sometimes a curve isn’t enough. Manifestation, miracles, and wish-granting genies are on the table once students realize the exam may require something more supernatural.

Post-Exam Posts

0.02% away from an A, and no amount of begging or extra credit can save you. Welcome to finals week!
The notification that sends every student into a state of fight or flight, with the entire semester flashing before their eyes. You rush to log in to Canvas to view your score, and of course, the Wi-Fi is down, because why make finals week easy?
Some students cry when they see their final grade. Some cheer. Some scream. Some throw up in sinks.
One of the worst feelings? Spending hours studying for the exam, but somehow you’ve never seen the content that’s on the exam. How is this even possible — and would it have been less painful not to study at all?
