Penn State Men’s Soccer Adds Two Coaches To Staff

Penn State men’s soccer has added two new faces to Rob Dow’s staff, naming Brad Cole as assistant head coach and Owen Jack as an assistant coach. Both arrive after serving the same roles at Vermont.
“These two bring experience, energy, and complementary skill sets that are just what we need here at Penn State,” Dow said in a release. “Together, we are prepared to make a statement not only in the Big Ten, but nationally.”
Cole spent three seasons with Dow at Vermont, recognized as part of the America East’s Coaching Staff of the Year in 2024 and 2025. He was an integral part of the team’s recruitment, player development, and team management. Cole brought in Vermont’s first-ever ranked recruiting class last year, coming in at No. 44 overall.
Before Vermont, Cole served as the assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at the University of Portland, bringing in the No. 2-ranked recruiting class in 2023. He signed seven top-100 players, including the No. 2 recruit in Canada, during his time.
Cole coached multiple players who earned All-WCC honors and All-Region Honors, with three players moving on to professional careers.
Assistant coach Jack comes to Happy Valley from Vermont after earning 2025 America East Coaching Staff of the Year honors. He lead the goalkeeper room to the conference’s second best save percentage and second-most saves per game, both ranked top 50 nationally. He coached the 2025 American East Goalkeeper of the Year, Niklas Herceg, who went on to be a first-round pick in the MLS SuperDraft.
Jack played five seasons at Stetson as a goalie, earning six shutouts in 22 appearances. He used his final year of eligibility as a graduate transfer at Vermont, starting all 21 matches and recording eight shutouts, with a 0.85 goals against average.
He signed a professional contract in 2024 before returning to Stetson as an assistant coach prior to his stint at Vermont.
