Report: Penn State Football Linebacker Anthony Speca Plans To Enter Transfer Portal

Penn State football linebacker Anthony Speca plans to enter the transfer portal when the window opens in January, per On3’s Steve Wiltfong. Speca has three years of eligibility remaining.
In his true freshman season in 2024, Speca appeared in only six games to preserve his redshirt. The Bridgeville, Pennsylvania, native did record a team-high five tackles in a Beaver Stadium win against Kent State.
Speca saw game action in all but one game in 2025 and was due for an extended role after Tony Rojas’ season was cut short due to injury, but it never came to fruition. The redshirt freshman middle linebacker only recorded six total tackles over 11 games.
A four-star recruit out of high school by 247Sports, Speca was the second player to commit to the Nittany Lions in the class of 2024. The Central Catholic alum was the ninth-best player in Pennsylvania and 41st-best linebacker in the country in his class.
Speca is the 17th Nittany Lion to announce his intentions to enter the transfer portal.
