Report: Penn State Football Defensive Tackle Owen Wafle Enters Transfer Portal

Penn State football defensive tackle Owen Wafle has entered the transfer portal, per Matt Zenitz and Chris Hummer of CBS Sports. Wafle has three years of eligibility remaining.

Wafle appeared in nine games for Penn State in 2025, mostly in a special teams capacity. He recorded a tackle against Villanova, Iowa, Rutgers, and Clemson.

Wafle transferred to the Nittany Lions from Michigan in January as Penn State’s fifth transfer commit of the cycle. The Princeton, New Jersey, native was ranked as the No. 75 edge rusher in the transfer portal at the time of his commitment, per 247Sports.

He finished as the No. 9 player in New Jersey and No. 50 defensive lineman in the class of 2024 as a recruit, per 247Sports’ Composite rankings.

Wafle will now search for his third program in as many years.
